To fit the chip on top of the motor the lights have been disconnected and the plastic rods that carry the light partially removed. It is possible to reinstate the lights by soldering “grain of wheat” bulbs with long tails to the original position and attaching them to the remains of the light rods. The driver’s seats have been removed to help access, but are included. The Pantographs are now not operational and only for show. This is obviously a project for an experienced modeler and could easily be put back to its original state with a working pantograph. These changes in no way effects the actual running of the train.
