The locomotives were retired in 1975 after sixty-one years of service. Some Class 8620s, built for Taiwan under the name the Class E500, were renamed Class C95 in 1937.After World War II, it was taken over by Taiwan Railways, which changed its name again to the CT150 Class in 1947.Twenty-two locomotives have survived into preservation, in addition to one CT150 class locomotive.
