All locomotives include horn-hook and AccuMate(R) couplers. HistoryPrototype information: Baldwin introduced the VO-660 in 1940. While similar in appearance to the VO-1000, the VO-660 was approximately 3 feet shorter overall. The first VO-660 was ordered by the Northern Pacific Railroad, and had an oval grill (not manufactured by Stewart Hobbies). The first unit with the, more common, angled front was the EJ&E #271, built in March, 1941. Approximately 130 VO-660’s were produced by Baldwin, with the angled front, when production ended with Kansas City Southern’s #1150 in May, 1946.
