The EMD SW7 is a 1,200 horsepower diesel switcher locomotive built by General Motors Electro-Motive Division between October 1949 and January 1951. At 1,200 horsepower, the SW7 replaced the 1,000 horsepower NW2 in the EMD catalog.

In 2024, we are building models of the M1a and M1b. 8512 PRR M1a 4-8-2, #6788, Paragon4 Sound/DC/DCC. The differences between the M1a and M1b classes are minor. The M1b’s have firebox circulators that are absent from the M1a’s, and the sole visible distinction are the extra cleaning plugs on the firebox sides for maintaining the circulators.
