Foam casing is EX. There is a special tool and a bag of parts (see PIC close-up). The only literature is a sheet from Oriental on the similar B-1A loco and 2 pages of invoice info for work done on the loco, dated 4-8-92.
No box or literature. Motor started; but, the loco did not move. I touched power leads directly to the wheels and they tried to move. Alternating power on/off, I noticed the wheels would move slightly.
STEWART HOBBIES HO BURLINGTON CB&Q F3 PHASE II EARLY A/B SILVER LOCOMOTIVE SET – NOS NEW!
When power was applied, the gears tried to spin but two of them popped up out of position (2nd to last photo). When I removed two of these gears (last photo) the center wheel assembly spun freely. I lifted up the center gear assembly and the gear inside the wheel assembly tower was spinning freely also.
F3B PHASE II/III. DIESEL LOCOMOTIVE. ORIENTAL LIMITED. CB&Q FREIGHT. NEW CONDITION AS SHOWN. WAS REMOVED FROM PLASTIC WRAP FOR PICTURES AND TESTING. MODELTEST RUNS WELL AND SHOWS NO SIGNS OF ANY USE.
The original box top is EX with a couple of dings; however, the bottom has 2 split corners and the bottom is “torn up” (see PICs). It does not look original due to how the loco area is cut out. The top foam cover is black and looks ok.
