D51 498 was built in 1940 and operated throughout Honshu before being retired in 1972. Locomotive: D51 498. It ran in double-heading formation with EF58 61 between Ueno and Omiya. This model faithfully recreates the locomotive’s distinctive and decorative appearance from that historic service.
