United 2-Truck Shay, Class B, Geared Locomotive. I have not tested the train, but it appears to be in very good condition.
If this is the Shay that I think it is, the Brass Guide lists this model as manufactured in 1967 by Atlas Industries of Japan. 280 units were produced.
