Brand new in original packaging; Please note, the train was wrapped in a light brown paper….the paper stuck to the train, as such I removed the train from the box and wiped it down with a damp cloth….the paper easily came off. The train does not detach from the base. As for the size, it is smaller than HO but larger than N scale. Constructed of plastic, no makers mark One last note, the plastic clear sleeve has yellowed due to age.
