This locomotive was built by Nippon Sharyo in 1926. As a side note, the locomotive's cab still bears bullet holes from gunfire by U.S. fighter planes. This is from when the locomotive was hit by U.S. fighter gunfire on March 18, 1945, which resulted in the death of a 19-year-old rookie conductor.
