This EMD Alco RSD4/5s is one of many Atlas N Scale locomotives. Built by Alco between 1950 and 1956, this six-axle diesel was based on it's four-axle contemporary the Alco RS3. Many RSD4/5s were assigned to operate in mountainous territory (with varying degrees of success) on the Southern Pacific, Santa Fe and the Utah Railway; others were used to haul heavy drag freights and transfer runs.
