We now offer our NEWEST SMOKE WICK for pre-1966 steamers (and others using this style of wick). This wick is made of 100% USA cotton and equipped with a 600 degree fiberglass heat shield sleeve which makes it virtually impossible for the wick to burn through. Not only that but due to the cotton wick wicks fluid almost instantly to the heater wire thus giving billows of smoke at most any speed. Probably last longer than the original ACG wicks did (some lasted 50 - 70 years). WE HAVE UPGRADED THESE WICKS BY ADDING A COVERING ON THE ENDS OF THE WICK WHICH MUST BE REMOVED AFTER INSERTING THROUGH WICKS HOLES IN THE SMOKE UNIT AND BEFORE REATTACHING BOTTOM PLATE TO OPEN THE WICK FOR FLUID WICKING PURPOSES.
